Element Eight's OATH Oxygen Amplified Therapy is a patented technology that infuses skincare with dissolved liquid oxygen, designed to support skin at the cellular level. Acting as a catalyst for skin longevity, liquid oxygen helps counteract cellular senescence, improve the efficacy of actives, and support collagen and elastin production—improving how skin functions, regenerates, and performs over time. Oxygen is the essential molecule that supports the skin's repair and longevity systems, while curated actives such as exosomes, growth factors, and peptides improve aesthetics. Element Eight is a curated catalog of luxury skincare clinically proven to improve the biology of skin regeneration and efficaciously improve appearance.
Insights: Gerard Camme, Founder + CEO
Why now and why you?
Element Eight has secured a white space in the skincare category. No brand can deliver oxygen as effectively as we can. Our concept, developed for spine surgery and augmented for skincare, uses patented liquid oxygen to counteract biological skin aging and cellular senescence. In a crowded space, our voice is singular. It’s heavy in science, unique in formulations, and excellent in results. The clinical luxury skincare category has outperformed 3x to 5x the overall category for the past 10 years and is projected to continue at that pace for the next 10 years. Our point of difference makes Element Eight a standout brand.
What fuels your competitive advantage?
We check all the boxes required for a luxury skincare brand. We meet the demand of not just delivering active ingredients that this discriminant customer looks for, but we counteract biological skin aging and cellular senescence. The combination of our heritage (developed for spine surgery), science, and luxury experience puts us at the top of the list within the category.
What’s your proudest accomplishment to date?
We set out to develop a hero product that would satisfy the needs of the skin minimalist and easily work into the routine of the skin maximalist. Based on its 52% returning customer rate, O2 Niacinamide Eight Active Serum has succeeded in doing so. We are super proud of this product and will work to make it a part of everyone's routine.
What is the one thing you wish someone had told you?
I've been down this startup path before with another brand, which I successfully exited in 2016, so there are not many surprises. However, funding in the early days is the biggest challenge.
What would you tell your past self before starting this journey?
Stay true to your concept, stay the course, be ready for the many highs and those pesky lows. Enjoy the ride, work with passion, and keep moving forward
What does success look like in the next 3-5 years?
Element Eight ranks high in luxury clinical skincare and pushes $50 million in revenue while exceeding innovation.
What's one industry trend that is overhyped, and what's being overlooked?
Marketing claims that speak to science are overhyped. This being said, the consumer is well researched and smart; they will figure this out. What's being overlooked is the need to augment the skincare routine architecture. There is a layer missing that is beyond an active ingredient … it's one that changes for the positive the biological function of the regenerative process.
How do you think the industry needs to evolve?
For skincare in particular, we need to move from "ingredient theater" to biological mechanism. Clinical proof needs to be more sophisticated, and we should stop pretending that every product is a "must-have.” I believe the future is more about preventative longevity, not anti-aging … it should be more about authority with fewer trends. Personalization needs to become biologically real.
If you could wave a magic wand, what one wish would you make for your business?
Finance to the point of positive cash flow with enough to make strategic investments in building awareness, community, and scale.
